Sound advice in your article Angela, thanks.
On the uploading to a web page subject, I've successfully built PowerPoint slideshows into my website in the form of flash movies. It's quite effective.
An alternative to a blank slide at the beginning (or anywhere in the presentation) is simply to press the 'B' key for Blackout or 'W' key for Whiteout. Great for keeping audience attention on you.

Angela, I'm sure the PowerPoint team would really love having your expertise in the community at the PowerPoint page on Facebook. This is really great advice. You can join the community here: http://www.facebook.com/MicrosoftPowerpoint

I recently read Nancy Duarte's book and it helped my presentations immensely. I feel like a real PowerPoint Pro now!
